Happy New Year 2026 to everyone!
This year will be challenging in many ways, especially in scientific development. I hope that some nice things will come through and that the ongoing challenges will be completed. I will stay positive over the forthcoming year, which is crucial. The new year marks the 10th anniversary of my website, which had been running under a different address, https://mkrgeo-blog.com, until 2023.
It was a second address. The first URL was hosted on WordPress.com at https://www.mkgeoblog.wordpress.com.

I started as a casual blogger with an initial aim of an original point of view, which has lasted till today. My blog was an answer to the utopia of this world, where you have to go to work and do various things you don’t necessarily like. I started to build up my own autonomy on the internet by providing a multitude of approaches with several fields I am good enough at. Sometimes I posted in Polish, predominantly about archival matters, which used to affect my early life and childhood. However, over the years, they were verified by various factors, including page hits, market needs, and the direction of scientific development. WordPress.com became too uncomfortable for me, and, as of 2019, I started blogging at a new, independent address: https://mkrgeo-blog.com, mentioned earlier. The blog developed, and all the posts became gradually more precise and professional.

As years went by, I started to realize that my blog isn’t a blog anymore. I meant that the texts became professional enough to be used by others, at least in GIS sections. Regarding scientific matter, I was able to compile my posts into serious publications. In 2023, I decided to move to an entirely new address, which was meant not include the “blog” in the domain and represent a high-quality website oriented on specific niches. On the other hand, it’s harder for me to keep all the disciplines at the same level as I did several years ago, when I was only blogging. Now, I remain focused on pioneering and scientific work, which has led me to participate in world-class conferences where I can share my thoughts. I am glad of it, and I hope to continue this direction, even if my SEO results remain hopeless. After moving into a new address, the SEO collapsed, about which I wrote here. I didn’t know in which direction to go. Still, thanks to the aforementioned conferences and rising interest in my work within the scientific community, I decided to reorganize my work strategy and continue to provide high-quality texts. Honestly, I doubt my SEO results will reach the levels of past years, but given my current focus, it’s not that important. I’ve got many plans for this website and hope to introduce some of them in the following year.
If you are still fortunate to find my website amidst stupid AI-soaked Google algorithms – STAY TUNED!
Apart from it, I wish you HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
